When does Word Nest come out?

Word Nest is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 01:00 UTC. That is 08:00 in Vietnam and the evening of Friday, October 23 in the Americas. Until then its game page on ovo.games shows it as coming soon, and you can tap Notify me there to hear the moment it goes live. On release day it joins the Logic category next to the other OvO puzzles. It runs in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone, in portrait or landscape, and inside the OvO.games app, so there is nothing extra to install. If you sign in, your progress follows you from one device to the next.

What is Word Nest?

Word Nest mixes two classic word ideas. At the bottom of the screen sits a round nest of 3 to 7 letters. Above it is a little crossword, never bigger than nine squares across. Every word you spell from the nest letters that fits the crossword pops into its squares. One crossword word always uses every letter in the nest, and the shorter ones hide inside it. There is no timer and there are no lives, so you can take a level at your own pace. The 300 levels are split into 12 chapters named after places on the OvO islands, starting at Lantern Pier and ending at the Moon Observatory, and the backdrop changes colour as you travel.

How do you play Word Nest?

Each level takes a few minutes. Look at the letters, then start swiping.

  1. Word Nest on a phone: a violet line joins P, U and T in the nest and the word PUT shows above itStep 1: Press on a letter and slide across the others to spell a word, then let go. Each letter can be used once per word. If you pick a wrong letter, slide back over it to take it off.
  2. Word Nest on a phone: PUT now fills a column of the crossword in violet tiles while the player swipes T and I in the nestStep 2: A word that belongs in the crossword drops its letters into the squares. Words can go in any order, and short words are often the quickest way in.
  3. Word Nest on a phone: the player swipes I, T and N to make TIN, with PUT already placed in the crosswordStep 3: Spell a real word that is not in the crossword and it becomes a bonus word. Bonus words fly into Violet's lantern, and every five of them give you a free hint.
  4. Step 4: Fill every square to win. Three stars go to a level finished without hints. A gold cascade, confetti and a win card show the words and bonus words you found.

What helps when you are stuck?

Shuffle is free: tap it, or tap the middle of the nest, and the letters swap places so new words jump out. Hint costs 10 tokens and shows the next hidden letter of the shortest word you still need. A hint can also come free from Violet's lantern once it is full. On a computer you can skip swiping altogether: type the word and press Enter, use Space to shuffle and Backspace to remove a letter. Every tenth level is a hard one with an extra word, so it pays to save free hints for those.

Is Word Nest free to play?

Yes. The first 30 of its 300 levels are free for everyone, and the optional OvO Pass unlocks the rest. Besides the levels there is a daily puzzle and a friend challenge, so you get a fresh nest of letters every day. The menus come in English, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, while the words themselves are English for now.
