Sprout Garden: what it is, how to play and when it comes out

When does Sprout Garden come out?

Sprout Garden is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 01:00 UTC. That is 08:00 in Vietnam and the evening of Tuesday, October 27 in the Americas. Until then its game page on ovo.games shows it as coming soon, and you can tap Notify me there to hear the moment it goes live. On release day it joins the Merge category. It runs in the web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so there is nothing to install. It is made for holding your phone upright, and on a wide screen the seed tray moves to the left of the garden.

What is Sprout Garden?

It is a calm place-and-merge puzzle starring Sprout, the gardener OvO in the straw hat, who coaches you from the top of the screen. Each level gives you a small garden of soil plots and a bag of seeds. You see the piece you are planting now and the one after it, so you can plan a move ahead. Matching plants grow through seven stages: seed, sprout, bud, flower, bush, tree and golden tree. Gardens start at 4 by 4 plots and grow to 6 by 7. Later levels add stones that never move and weeds that you clear by merging next to them. Every fifth level is a lighter breather, and every tenth level from level 20 on is a hard one.

How do you play Sprout Garden?

The goal sits at the top of the screen: grow a number of a certain plant, pull every weed, or both, before the seed bag runs out.

1. 1Step 1: Look at the seed tray. The big circle is the piece you plant now, and the small one is what comes next. Find a spot where it will touch two pieces just like it.
2. 2Step 2: Press a plot to see a preview. White rings mark the pieces that will merge, and green rings mark the weeds the merge will pull. Let go to plant it.
3. 3Step 3: Three or more matching pieces that touch up, down, left or right merge into one piece of the next stage, right on the plot you just used. The new plant can merge again for a combo, and every weed touching the merge is pulled. Meet the goal and the level is done.

What happens if the garden fills up?

The level ends when the seed bag is empty or there is no free plot left, so planting a seed in a dead corner can cost you later. You can then continue with a few extra seeds or try again. Three buttons sit under the garden: Undo takes your last seed back and Hint shows the best plot, and both cost tokens. Restart is always free. Your stars depend on how few seeds you used. In Settings there is a Growth numbers option that puts the stage number on every plant, which helps when the garden gets busy. On a computer you can also play with the arrow keys and Enter, and U takes a seed back.

Is Sprout Garden free to play?

Yes. Of its 300 levels, the first 40 are free for everyone, and the optional OvO Pass unlocks the rest. Restart is free on every level, and a lost level can always be tried again at no cost. The menus come in English, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, and the game respects the reduced motion setting on your device.
