The common booster types

Most puzzle games use a similar set of helpers. On OvO.games you will see:

• Undo: takes back your last move. Found in games such as Chick Sort, Tile Trio, Nest Blocks and Feather Solitaire.
• Hint: shows a useful move. Found in most level games.
• Shuffle: rearranges pieces when you are stuck, as in Tile Trio and Peep Pop 2.
• Extra space: +Branch in Chick Sort and +Winder in Yarn Knots give you more room to work.
• Time: Freeze in Gate Jam stops the timer.
• Continue: lets you keep going after a level or run would end.

Each game names its boosters to fit its theme, but the ideas are shared.

Undo: the learning booster

Undo is the most valuable booster for improving at a game, because it lets you test an idea and see its consequence immediately. The best time to use it is the moment you notice a mistake, not ten moves later. One early undo can save a level that would otherwise need several stronger boosters at the end.

If you find yourself using Undo repeatedly on the same kind of situation, that is a sign of a pattern worth learning. In sorting games, for example, it is usually about running out of free space.

Hint: after an honest attempt

A hint is most rewarding when you have already tried. A simple rule is to play a level once or twice on your own first. If you are still stuck, a hint often reveals a move type you had not considered, such as parking a piece temporarily, and that lesson carries over to future levels.

On levels where every move is known to be solvable, such as the always-solvable levels in Chick Sort, Tile Trio, Flock Out and Gate Jam, a hint is especially useful because it confirms the intended route exists.

Shuffle, extra space and other strong boosters

Stronger boosters change the board itself. They are best saved for hard levels. In most OvO.games level games, every 10th level is a hard one and every 5th is a calmer breather, so it makes sense to keep a few strong boosters in reserve for the 10th levels and play the breathers without help.

How boosters are paid for on OvO.games

Boosters on OvO.games are spent with OvO Tokens, the in-game currency. You earn tokens by playing, for example through the daily egg, missions and challenges, and you can also buy them. Tokens can also unlock extra levels. OvO Pass members receive 500 bonus OvO Tokens a month.

Because tokens are earned through regular play, a reasonable approach is to treat them as a budget: spend a few on hard levels and keep the rest for when you really need them.

Boosters and fair competition

A common worry is whether boosters are unfair in competitive modes. On OvO.games, boosters never change a leaderboard score, scores are checked on the servers, and daily challenges use the same board for everyone. So using a booster helps you progress, but it does not buy a better ranking.

A simple personal rule

If you want a single rule to remember: undo freely, hint after two tries, and keep the big boosters for hard levels. This keeps the satisfying feeling of solving puzzles yourself, while making sure one difficult level never stops you from enjoying the rest of the game.
