Looking for a Sorting Puzzle Game on Steam?

Quick answer
OvO's sorting puzzle games are not on Steam. Chick Sort, Screw Crew, Hexa Nest and the other OvO puzzles are free to play in a modern web browser at ovo.games, so they run on a PC or laptop with nothing to install, and in the app for iPhone, iPad and Android. If you want a sorting game on Steam itself, check each store page for price, reviews and Steam Deck support.
If you searched for a sorting puzzle game on Steam, you probably want something calm to play on a computer. We make OvO.games, a set of cute puzzle games starring the OvOs, and none of them are sold on Steam. This page explains where you can play them for free instead, how our sorting games differ from each other, and what to look at before you buy a sorting game on Steam.

Are OvO sorting games on Steam?
No. OvO.games is available on the web, on iPhone and iPad, and on Android, and there is no Steam version, so there is no Steam Deck version either. On a computer you play in the browser at ovo.games, which means no download and no install, and the games resize for a big screen as in the Chick Sort picture above. You can start as a guest. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your progress, tokens and OvO Pass follow you between your computer and your phone. Every game is free to play with ads, and ads are never shown during a level. In the level games the first 40 levels are free for everyone, and the optional OvO Pass subscription unlocks every level and removes ads.
What counts as a sorting puzzle game?
In a sorting puzzle you move pieces into containers until each container holds one kind, usually one colour. The tension comes from limited space: a tube, branch, tray or bench that fills up if you move things in the wrong order. That is different from a pipe puzzle, where you rotate or place pieces to connect a path, and from a pure logic grid, where you deduce answers from clues. Newer sorting games usually add one twist: pieces hidden until uncovered, a holding area that ends the level when it fills, or a board in 3D. The three OvO games below each take one of those directions.
Chick Sort: the classic colour sort on branches

Chick Sort is the closest to the classic ball or water sort. OvOs perch on branches around a tree trunk. Tap a branch and then another, and the OvOs at the tip hop across if the target is empty or has the same colour on top with room. Four of one colour cheer and fly away. From level 11 some OvOs are asleep behind a question mark, and you only see their colour when the OvO in front of them hops away. There are 230 levels and a daily puzzle. On a computer you can play with the keyboard, using the arrow keys to move between branches and Enter or Space to tap.
Screw Crew: a 3D screw sort with a holding tray

Screw Crew is a screw puzzle in real 3D. Coloured screws hold stacked plates on a board. Tap a screw on top and it spins out and flies into the open box of its colour, carried by an OvO. Two boxes are open at a time, each taking three screws, and a full box is carried away. Screws with no matching box wait in a tray with five slots, and a full tray ends the level. When a plate loses its last screw it drops away and shows the screws underneath. You can drag to turn the board a little and peek between layers. It has 200 levels.
Hexa Nest: sort colours by placing stacks

Hexa Nest sorts by placement. A tray offers three stacks of egg tiles, and you drag each stack onto a honeycomb board. When a stack touches a neighbour with the same top colour, the tiles flow together, and ten or more of one colour on top hatch into an OvO. Each level asks you to hatch a set number of tiles, and you lose when no free cell is left after a move. Good play means keeping a cell or two open and placing stacks where they touch the most matching colours. It has 200 levels, and it can also be played with the keyboard on a computer.
What should you check before buying a sorting game on Steam?
If you still want a sorting game on Steam, the store page answers most questions. Check the current price and any discount, the recent and overall user reviews, and the Steam Deck compatibility rating if you play on a Deck. Look at the controller support notes too, since many sorting puzzles were designed for a mouse or touch screen. Steam lets you combine tags such as Puzzle, Casual and Relaxing with a Free to Play filter if you want something free. Watching a gameplay video is the quickest way to see whether the pace suits you.
