How Egg Drop works

Slide your finger or mouse to aim the egg above the jar; a guide shows where it will land. Let go and the egg drops right under your finger. The next egg waits in the preview bubble, so you always know one drop ahead.

When two matching OvOs touch, they hatch into the next OvO in the chain, starting from Egg, then Peek, Sunny and on up to Phoenix and Cosmo. There are 12 OvOs to hatch in total. If an egg rests above the red line for two seconds, the run ends.

Keep small eggs together

The most important habit is to keep sizes organised. If small eggs end up scattered between big OvOs, they cannot reach each other to merge, and the jar fills up with pieces that will never combine.

Many players pick one side of the jar for the larger OvOs and keep the smaller ones near the other side or on top. You do not have to be strict about it, but every drop should ask the same question: will this land next to something it can merge with, now or soon?

Use the preview bubble

Because the next egg is always shown, you can plan two drops at a time. If the current egg has no good spot but the next one will merge with something, place the current one somewhere harmless that does not cover the target.

When an egg truly has nowhere useful to go, the Swap booster lets you set an awkward egg aside. It is often a better choice than dropping it in a place that buries a merge you need.

Chain merges for combos up to x5

Merges that happen within a moment of each other chain into combos for up to x5 points. The best way to get them is to set up stacks where one merge creates a new OvO that immediately touches its twin. For example, if two small OvOs merge right next to a matching medium one, the new OvO can merge again straight away.

This also explains why tidy jars score more: when similar sizes sit next to each other, one drop can start a cascade.

Physics matters: aim with the bounce in mind

Egg Drop uses real jar physics: eggs drop, roll, squash and merge. A drop on top of a rounded OvO may roll off to the side, and a heavy merge can nudge its neighbours. Aim slightly toward the side you want an egg to roll to, and avoid dropping onto the very top of a tall pile when the red line is close.

If the jar is getting full, slow down. One careful drop that merges is worth more than several fast drops that pile up near the line.

The album, the Daily jar and boosters

Every OvO you hatch is added to your album, which is a good long-term goal: hatching all 12 OvOs takes real planning near the top of the chain. The Daily jar gives every player the same sequence of drops that day, so it is a fair test of skill.

Egg Drop has three boosters: Pop removes an OvO from the jar, Swap sets aside the current egg, and Continue lets you carry on after a run would have ended. Pop is most useful on a single blocker that keeps two matching OvOs apart.
